Internet Connection Sharing

The next step is the configuration of ent Internet connection sharing (ICS). ICS is used to share Internet connection on the gateway computer to the client computer. Here are the steps :
  1. Change the first IP address on the LAN card 1 (hotspot connection) to Obtain mode in order to receive a dynamic IP address or if we want to do manual settings provide the IP address 192.168.0.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 (ICS use address 192.168.0.1 - 192.168 . 0254 as one of the main requirement) .
  2. Open the back window after the network connection right click the LAN area 2 (internet connection) and then click Properties.
  3. Will be displayed Internet Connection Properties window . In this window click the Advanced tab and place a check in the Allow other network users to connect .... Internet connection sharing section . Then select Hotspot Connection at the bottom .
  4. After you click OK in the previous step , is likely to be shown the window as shown below if we do not change the IP address of LAN card 1 with 192.168.0.1 . just click YES .

Identification of Problems and Limitations Network Installation Wireless Lan

Problem Identification.
The issues that will shape the authors discuss is implementing a wireless network systems and program management hotspot to provide internet connection via Wireless LAN is installed or configured on the PC SERVER.

Limitations
Authors limit the issues on some important points that will be discussed about the proposed title, to avoid irregularities - irregularities in the research objectives are:
  1. Installation and configuration of wireless network systems are built.
  2. As for who will be presented with respect to the above is the basic title computer networks, preparation and installation of Wireless LAN devices.
  3. Installation hotspot management program used. In this case I use the program to manage Antamedia Hotspot hotspot network is built.

Intent and purpose of the Network Installation Wireless Lan

The purpose of the author chose the title Installation wireless lan network (hotspot areas) as this is a commercial vehicle:

Join HotSpot

After the above simple HotSpot completed, it is time we try to access the HotSpot client computer through. Before joining Hotspot network, I will explain first how the client can get into the hotspot network that we make. First cliet Hotspot Operator will come, and will submit a request to enter into a hotspot network that we are building. Then we will offer package deals which would be taken by the client. As an example we will practice later, the client wanted to take a 10-hour internet package, with a maximum of 5 Gb quota, download and upload speeds 30 Mb / sec, and is valid until 30 days counted from the use of the operator First after Bill will give the paper to be paid by the client in accordance with the price list is already listed. Login and then client bias into our Hotspot network members. Well before I explain how it works make sure the client computers that will be used has been equipped with a wireless adapter for easy setup and the wireless adapter's IP address to the client computer Obtain mode in order to receive a dynamic IP address from the gateway computer. Well here are the steps to make more how Operators Account for clients who want to join our network Hotspot.
  1. Reopen the program Antamedia Hotspot Manager, click Accounts on the left side of the window. Then in the following Generate kolol enter the number 1 which means that we will make one new account. After that in the username field enter the user name that would make such accounts. Then on the left side select User Type Prepaid. Then select the package price / price plan that the client desired. Once selected for more details click the option tab and there will explain what services are provided from the selected package. After the match, click the Generate button, it will show up one new account. Then click Save, then the account will be registered to the column as described above.
  2. Then click the proficiency level account, then a new tab will appear below. Tab displays a paper bill on that account. Then print, after the paper give the bill to the client earlier.
Up here finished the production of accounts for new clients. Now how do I join a hotspot?
  1. Switch to the client computer, open the Wireless Zero Configuration window and make sure the computer can detect the SSID GRACE HOTSPOT, click the connect button to join the network.
  2. If the connection is successful now try to open a web browser (Mozilla FireFox / Internet Explorer), then type the address of the website, so if the HotSpot configuration that we have done before we will be successful now in-redirec or redirected to the login page.
  3. Enter the username and password that was created earlier, and then click login.Up here I hope we understand a little about what it HotSpot and how to build it. For commercial purposes I suggest we using HotSpot Manager is intended for the benefit of that HotSpot network that we build easy to manage and avoid user-user "rogue" that can harm us.

The Commonly Used Network Equipment

In building a computer network, are also in need of special hardware associated with network needs to be built. Here are some commonly used network equipment to cable-based and wireless networks.

1 . UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair), is one of the transmission medium used to connect between the computer / network equipment with a computer / network equipment to another by using port RJ45 - Male.

Figure 2.1 UTP cable

2. NIC (Network Interface Card) , is directly related to the equipment and the computer is designed to be a computer - a computer network can communicate with each other. NIC also provides access to the physical network medium . As where the bits of data (such as voltage, current , electromagnetic waves , and other physical quantities) will be formed is determined by the NIC. NIC examples of tools that work on the first screen or the physical screen .
Figure 2.2 NIC

3 . HUB , an equipment which can double the frames of data from one computer to all ports on the hub . So that all the computers are connected to the hub port will receive the data as well .

4. Repeater, is one example of active hub. Repeaters are devices that can receive a signal, then amplify the signal and send it back to the other place. So that the signal can reach places that far because repeaters work on physical quantities such as voltage, electric current, electromagnetic waves, then repeaters are included in the category of equipment that work on the physical screen .

5. Bridge , an equipment that can connect multiple segments within a network. Unlike the hub, a bridge can learn the destination MAC address. So if a computer sends data to a particular computer, the bridge will send the data via the port that is connected to the destination computer only. When the bridge not knowing which ports are connected to the destination computer, then he will try to send a broadcast message to all ports (except the port that sent the computer). after a known destination port then port it to the next only to send the data only . Bridge also can filter traffic between two LAN segments. Bridge work screen Data Link .

Figure 2.4 Bridge

6. Router, a network equipment to connect one network to another network. At first glance similar to the bridge router, but the router is more intelligent in comparison with the bridge. Router works using raouting table stored in its memory to make decisions about where and how where the packet is sent. Raouter can decide the best route to be taken by the data packets. Router will determine the preferred physical media networks and are not favored. Raouting protocol can anticipate a variety of conditions that are not owned by the bridge equipment . Routers work at the network screen .

Figure 2.5 Router

7. Network Switch, in addition to repeaters, bridges, and routers, there are a number of switching equipment that can be used in building the internetwork. Equipment switches are designed with different goals with repeaters, bridges and routers. If the network device is connected to a LAN too much then it needs increasing transmission capacity that exceeds served by the network transmission media. How it works is similar to a bridge switch. So sometimes referred to as multiple switches and bridges that connect each host will get a full bandwidth. The switch has several advantages in comparison bridge, among others, in terms of packet forwarding methord is passe .

Figure 2.6 Switch

8. Geteway work and duty pass packets between networks with different protocols, so the difference is not visible at the application layer. Getway sometimes called ip router. Getway work on the application screen .

9. Modems are used as LAN network connection to the Internet.

Figure 2.7 Modem

10. Access point (AP), is one of the devices that can support the network access without wires or wirelessLAN. Wireless AP device type using radio waves as the transmission medium. The main function of the AP is the central connection. AP can be said to have a function like a switch on the cable network transmisit. AP providing devices such as a radio receiver capable of receiving another wave of another AP or other wireless media , such as USB wireless. In addition, the AP also save the software is able to communicate and encrypt the data, as well as the virtual port to connect to a wired network (wired network).

Hardware specifically for this one I will discuss more fully in the next chapter .

Hotspot Installation Manager

HotSpot Manager is used to serve the clients HotSpot for example, from issuing a username and password, time usage limit HotSpot service, HotSpot vouchers etc. . Average HotSpot Manager software installation and configuration offers a way different from one another.

In this paper we will use the HotSpot Antamedia Hotspot Manager we can find shareware version ya in hotspot - installer - v2.exe . Well here are the steps to install HotSpot Antamedia Hotspot Manager .
  1. Switch to the gateway computer. Double-click the installation file - v2.exe hotspot - installer, installation package initialization process will run until the License Agreement window appears as shown below . To continue the circumference select I Accept , and then click Next .
  2. Next will come the Choose Type of Installation window will be displayed. Click the next button on the Express Installation option.
  3. Continue by following the installation wizard provided. Screenshots of the installation process to finish this up . Then we will be asked to restart or reboot our computer .
  4. After the computer restarts Antamedia Hotspot program will run by itself (startup) to display the admin login page. User name and password is not set, so just click the login button to go to the next page.
  5. After clicking Login we will go to the admin page. We will also be offered Setup Wizard window as shown below. This window is useful to us for the first time using this program. Just close the window, because here the author will explain how the program works.
  6. Well , the first step we click the Setup tab and then click the Network tab, sub Network Setup . On the network interface we choose Hotspot Connection . Because we will do the ICS to LAN Hotspot Connection . Then check the Autostart option Hotspot For Selected Interface. Then enter the IP LAN Hotspot Connection column located on the right side (192.168.0.1). then click Save.
  7. The next step, we turn to Antamedia Database Server. Click Antamedia Database Server Icon in the lower right computer, it will display the front display window Antamedia DBS Server. Click the Edit Server Options on the left side of the window. It will display the Edit Server Options window.
  8. Then rejoice that we want the name Hotspot. In this paper we make "Grace Hotspot". Then click tab sessions, the Session option box Fill with second timeout 86400 or equal to 24 hours. Then click OK.
  9. After the Edit Server Option window is closed, we turn to the next page Antamedia DBS Server. Click the Start Server in the left pane of the window. Then the server will run automatically.
  10. After that we switched to Antamedia Hotspot Manager window. Click the setup, go to the sub network setup network tab, click Start. Will appear the words "Antamedia Hotspot is Ready" at the top of the window Antamedia Hotspot Manager.
Up here if no errors are biased internet network should be shared to the client. To the price / price I still follow the price list which is available directly from the program. For those who want to change the list price may be changed in accordance with their respective development policy manager hotspot. Now we will proceed client how to bias admission to the hotspot network that we are building.

Getting Started Network Installation Wireless Lan

Before we prepare a complete project to build a small - scale hotspot, there are some important notes explain that the author wants to avoid misunderstandings in building this hotspot. For hotspot connection that we are building, the author encountered several obstacles in making the network. Because the situation is not possible for the author to take providers such as Telkom (Speedy) or the other. So, I decided to take a connection from Mobile Celluler that in this day and age also have a fast internet access such as 3G or 3.5G (HSDPA), the provider of the XL . But the author still would explain the early stages of building a hotspot by using providers such as Telkom (Speedy).

Well early preparations to build a small project Hotspot include:
  1. 1 computer with the operating system Microsoft Windows XP SP2 comes with 2 LAN card , LAN card 1 will be connected to the internet and LAN card 2 will be connected to the AP (to use providers such as Telkom Speedy or the other), or 1 piece laptop with the system Microsoft Windows XP SP2 (for the final project) that henceforth we call the gateway computer.
  2. 1 computer (wireless adapter) or a laptop which we hereafter refer to as the client computer.
  3. Access Point (AP) in this case I use the AP Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router WRT54G.
  4. Straight type UTP cable to connect the main computer with the AP when the AP configuration.
  5. Internet connection (for use as speedy providers , we also have to provide ADSL modem, but for this writer TA workmanship using HP Sony Ericsson G502 with providers of XL).
  6. Antamedia Hotspot Software Manager as hotspot management that we will create.
The initial description of the hotspots that we are building are :
  • - Internet connection on your computer through the LAN card gateway both to the IP address obtained from the internet service provider, then this connection to share Internet service utilizing Connecting Sharing (ICS) Windows XP . As for the first LAN card will be connected to the AP using UTP cable Straight type.
  • - AP SSID set to our liking (in this paper the authors provide AP with the SSID name "Grace Hotspot") while the DHCP service should be disabled - right because the client computer to obtain an IP address automatically from the ICS system Windows XP .

Dissecting the Physical Access Point

Before establishing wireless network infrastructure mode (BSS) is useful to first get acquainted with the main character, namely Access Point (AP). The author uses AP Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router WRT54G models. though the physical components of AP among different from one another, but the supporting components of an AP will not be much different as the antenna, ports, indicator lights, power and others. It means that when we understand the physical form of the AP hopefully we will not have difficulty to understand the physical form of the other AP.

Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router is constitute I use 3 in 1 device because it can be used as an Access Point capable of handling client with 802.11b and 802.11g standards. The device also comes with an Ethernet port that can be used to connect to a wired network and the latter can serve as a router so that it can be used to share high speed internet network between members. For a basic understanding of the AP as a computer server that has the ability to handle network like DHCP, routers, etc. gatetway .

In addition, this device supports WEP and WPA encryption, DHCP server, VPN (Virtual Private Network). MAC Addrees, and the ability to filter the user in accessing the internet in the network.

In the scheme of Figure shown how the use of each port on the device Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router WRT45G. we can connect the WAN port to ADSL modem ADSL modem example of Telkom to get Telkom Speedy internet service. RJ - 45 ports (4 pieces) we can connect directly to a computer via UTP cable (straight type) or if we want the number of client network of more than 4 Ethernet LAN, we can connect to the HUB / Switch. Through the above scheme we can connect the wireless network to a wired network so that client members on each network can still communicate.

Connection Test ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)

In this section we will test whether the connection from the client computer services ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) has been going well . Well the following description more:
  1. Turning to the client computer, set to Obtain an IP address configuration in order can receive a dynamic IP address from the gateway computer via ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).
  2. Next open the windows Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) by right click Wireless Network Connection icon in the lower right corner sistry monitor, and then click View Available Wireless Networks.
  3. If there is no obstacle then SSID " Hotspot Grace " will be displayed in the windows WZC. Click connect to connect to the network.
  4. Once successfully connected kejaringan Rahmat Hotspot, try to open a page from the client computer. Up here if there is no obstacle should we now be able to access the internet from the client computer. If you can not access the internet please check back gateway computer may not be able to access the internet or possible firewall is enabled on the client computer. Please search for a solution in accordance with your network conditions.

Definition of Network Infrastructure

An infrastructure network is a set of physical and logical components that provide the basis for connectivity, security, routing, settings, access, and integral features on the network .

Very often, it is lowered and network infrastructure is designed. If the network is connected to the Internet , for example, certain aspects such as the Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) which is a proper protocol, derived from the Internet. Another aspect of the network, such as the physical layout of the elements basic network may be designed when the network is first created and then lowered to the latest version of the network .

Physical Infrastructure

A physical infrastructure network is a network topology is the physical design of the network which consists of hardware components such as cables, routers, switches, bridges, hubs, servers, and hosts. Physical infrastructure also includes technologies such as Ethernet, 802.11b wireless, Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), all of the methods defined in communication through various types of physical connections.

Logical infrastructure

Logical infrastructure consists of various elements of the software are connected, organized and secure the hosts on the network. Logical infrastructure enables communication between computers through a pathway that has been described in the physical topology. Examples include the logical elements of the infrastructure network components such as Domain Name System (DNS), network protocols such as TCP / IP, network client software such as Client Service For NetWare, and wealth like the network Quality of Service (QoS) Packet Scheduler.

Configuring Wireless Infrastructure and Access Point

To configure the wireless network infrastructure, we should first prepare the equipment , including :
  1. Some units Laptop / desktop PC (which has been equipped with a wireless adapter) with Microsoft Windows XP operating system .
  2. Access Point, in this case I use a Linksys Wireless - G Broadband Router WRT54G.
  3. 1 piece of UTP cable type straight.

Configuring the Access Point

Configuring the AP can be done through a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or the other. The scenario used in this paper is the AP will be connected directly to a laptop using UTP cable type straight through RJ - 45 port is provided. Some things to consider before configuring the AP, among others :

- By default AP already has an IP address, username and password. This information can be found in the manuals or CDs be included upon purchase. For example, AP Linksys WRT54G that I use has the IP address : 192.168.1.1, username : admin and password : admin (remember! username and password case sensitive properties or small capitalization differentiated). Change the IP address of the laptop that we use in order to configure the IP address included in the AP classes, for example if the IP address of the AP :

192.168.1.1 IP address 192.168.1.2 should laptop or more authors
using the IP address : 192.168.0.1 , subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 .
because I changed the IP to 192.168.0.2 AP . this step for
will allow us to share the connection .
Well we just started the configuration :
  1. Connect the AC power adapter into a power socket AP
  2. Connect AP with laptop that will be used to configure using UTP cable type straight through RJ - 45 port is provided.
  3. Change the IP address to 192.168.0.1 laptop or adjust the range of your AP class IP address .
  4. Open your favorite web browser ( in this case I use Mozilla Firefox ) . Then type the address http://[IP address of your AP] Addrees bar section , for example: http://192.168.0.2, then hit enter on the keyboard.
  5. The next window will display a form to fill in your username and password to log in to your AP configuration page.
  6. If the username and password you entered is correct then your AP configuration page will be displayed. Up to this point we have managed to get into the main page of the Linksys WRT54G AP device configuration . The main page of the AP 's configuration menus arranged horizontally like Setup, Wireless, Security, Access Restrictions, Application & Gaming, Administration, and Status . Each menu has a sub menu eg menu has a sub menu Setup Basic Setup, DDNS, Addrees Mac Clone, and Advanced Routing.
In this paper may not be explained throughout the menus there. Configuration will only be directed how to build a wireless network infrastructure for the sake make use of Wireless LAN AP on a small scale.

The contents of the menus available on the Linksys WRT54G AP is :
  • 1. At the top of the Internet Setup group you can set the network configuration on your internet connection. Usually when we subscribe to the internet, internet service provider or ISP (Internet Service Provider) will provide further arrangement on how and what should be set in this section to connect your network to the Internet. For this part you leave it in the default state just because we are not going to connect to the internet.
  • 2. Still in the Setup menu Basic Setup sub- menu, scroll to the bottom of your web browser page. In the Network Setup settings to give your local network .
- Local IP Address : enter the IP address you will use on the network. This address will also act as the default IP address of your AP.

- Subnet Mask : leave the default condition in accordance with the class of the IP address that you provide .

- DHCP Server : Enable option means your AP can act as a DHCP server that automatically assigns IP addresses to client network members . Instead Disable option means AP can not handle giving the client an IP address automatically .

- Starting IP Address : an IP address that will automatically be given to the client ( if DHCP is enabled ) starts from the number you provided . For example, if filled to 100 means first DHCP client its IP address 192.168.1.100 , 192.168.1.101 dst second client .

- Maximum Number of DHCP users : the maximum number of client DHCP server .

  • 3. Now switch to the Wireless menu Basic Wireless Settings sub menu .

- Wireless Network Mode : specify the permitted client wireless adapter to connect to the AP. Disable means turning off the wireless function so there is no client that can connect to the AP. Mixed means AP can accept client connections from 802.11b and 802.11g . B -Only intention AP only accepts client connections with standard 802.11b and G -Only means that AP only accepts connections from client 802.11g .

- Wireless Network Name ( SSID ) : fill in the name of your wireless network.

- Wireless Channel : use a different channel to avoid interference between the members of the wireless network , such as channel 1 , 6 , 11, will not jail each one another or channels 2 , 7 , 12 and 3 , 8 , 13 . channel which should be chosen ? , adjust to the conditions around you. For example, your wireless adapter detect jaringa with channel 1 means use channel 6 for the wireless network you are awak .

- Wireless SSID Broadcast : Enable option means the SSID you will be shown all the client without the use of special tools or Disable , which means you hide the SSID to the client network members .
  • 4. Next is still on the menu but select sub menu Wireless Wireless Security . In this menu you can select the data encryption security standards such as WEP , WPA or WPA2 . see explanation in this sub menu sbagai following :
- Security Mode : safety standards that can be applied in your network such as WEP, WPA or WPA2 .

- Default Transmit Key : windows xp key known by the term index. Figures 1-4 show that you should give 4 pieces but the prevailing security lock is key index active .

- WEP Encryption : is a type of encryption used in accordance with the scurity mode you select. Try to change the security mode to WPA Personal / Enterprise, the part will automatically change.

- Key 1 - Key 4 : security key that must be entered by any client will join the AP . Key 1 for default transmit key 1 , Key 2 to default transmit key 2 and so on.

- Passphrase : used to enter the security key in an instant. To use it just type any word after that click the Generate button , then you will automatically be created for the keyword stuffing box security on Key 1 - Key 4.
  • 5 . Next is still on the menu but now Wireless enabled Wireless MAC Filter submenu . When the Enable MAC Filter on the right you can determine which clients are allowed to join kejaringan based on the client MAC address . To view the MAC Address of the computer or laptop how is at the window type the command ipconfigs / All , MAC address of your computer is the data on physial hexadecimal address . Next enter the MAC address of the data by clicking the Edit MAC Filter List .

Well up to this point is actually the AP can be used to build the network infrastructure . Of AP in the minimal configuration we have the following data :
  1. IP address , Subnet Mask , Getway , DHCP , DHCP Client Number , Client IP Address to your network .
  2. Wireless mode (Mixed , G -Only , B -Only), SSID and Channel.
Security standards (WEP), Default Transmit Key or Key Index, Key 1 - Key 4 , or use Passphrase.

Configuring a LAN Connection

For the first phase we will configure the LAN connection . To use Telkom Speedy we need 2 LAN cards, LAN cards will be connected to the AP 1 and 2 LAN card for internet connection. For this final project there is only one LAN card, and will be connected to the AP, while the LAN card 2 will appear automatically when the network is connected to the internet from HP . As for what we'll do is change the name of the connection to be easy in the organization after giving IP address (IP address) for each of the LAN car . Well the following description more.
  1. Open the Network Connections window then right click on the area Local Area Connection (LAN card 1) and then click Rename and then rename it with Hotspot Connection. To use 2 LAN cards, LAN cards into 2 is named Internet Connection .
  2. Continuing the previous step, right-click again on the local internet connection (LAN card 2), but this time select Properties and then the Internet Connection window that pops up click Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) and click Properties again. (to use 2 LAN card)
  3. Now our task is to enter the IP address, Subnet, gateway, dns and others that you get from your ISP. If you already connect the UTP cable from ADSL modem or internet radio to the LAN card 2 port (for use 2 LAN card). For the spelling of this thesis, the internet connection will not enter the IP address or the other, because it is automatically installed on the network that we get from HP. We just need to connect the phone to computer with the data cable, then connect to it with a Sony Ericsson PC Suite software comes from HP. Then the computer will automatically receive the Internet network of HP and will make 2 LAN card automatically as well.
  4. To check the success of the settings we try to open the internet page of the computer. If success means our success configuration.
  5. The next step we will disable the DHCP service AP. How: follow the second step but this time we right click on the LAN 1 (hotspot connection) further specify the IP address following the AP 's default IP address range . For example, if the IP address 192.168.0.2 AP, so the LAN card in step 1 give the IP address 192.168.0.1. Another way that we can apply is to let the LAN card 2 get a dynamic IP address from the window AP.jadi charging option circumference IP address click Obtain an IP address automatically.
  6. The next step connect the AP to a computer via a LAN card type 1 using a straight UTP cable. Remember ! We connect it to the Ethernet port to the WAN port instead of AP.
  7. Next go to the main page of the AP configuration using the default web browser by typing the IP address of the AP section of his address bar.
  8. The next task assigned search menu to enable or disable the DHCP service on the AP. Do not forget to always save after making changes.
  9. AP configuration page last cap.

Wireless Network Topology

In theory the two wireless network topology that can be in shape. Topology is the topology is ad-hoc and infrastructure. The following brief explanation:
  1. Ad-hoc topology as the network topology in a peer-to-peer. It means that the network is built using only components of wireless devices without using an access point as a liaison.
  2. Infrastructure topology. In this topology in need of an access point (AP) as a media liaison. Clients as a member of the network must melelui access point before they can be associated with other client or server.

Know Your Wireless Network

Wireless technology is very suitable and widely used as a replacement for cables, such as wired mouse, wired LAN and even WAN cable (Wide Area Network) that previously took tissue from PT. Telkom. The technology used for each - one needs also vary according to mileage capable in tanganinya. Roughly speaking, semangkin much power wireless range, high semangkin hardware requirements are also in need.

A popular technology for wireless LAN is a group of Wi-Fi. Data transfer speed Wi-Fi, which is now at 54 Mbps, including standardization is being developed to be able to reach speeds of 248Mbps.

It is still not comparable to the speed of the UTP cable has reached 1 Gbps. However, most users feel the speed is adequate.

Types of Computer Networks

In computer networking, there are three roles that can be run by computers in the LAN (Local Area Network). The first can be a client role, that is just as users but does not provide network resources to be shared on the network and used by another member. The second role can be a peer, which is a client that uses the network resources while providing the so-called peer - to- peer. Finally, the role can be a server that provides network resources. Based on the above three roles, the computer network further divided into 3 parts:
  1. Network - based server and client - server , defined by the presence server in a network that provides security mechanisms and administration of the network. The network consists of many clients and one or more servers. Clients commonly referred to as front-end computer, ask for services such as storage and data printing to a network printer, while the server is often referred to as a back- end computers deliver the request to the appropriate destination.
  2. Peer-to - per. In a simple network is described, every computer on the network peer - to- peer functions as a client and server at the same time.
  3. Hybrid networks, are networks of computers that have all contained in the above two types of networks. This means that users in this hybrid network can access resources to share or be shared by a peer-to - peer, at a time when the same while also capitalize upon the resources provided by a server computer.

Definition of Computer Networks

Network is a combination of hardware, software, and cabling (cabeling), which allows a variety of computing devices communicate with each other.

Another opinion states that the computer network (computer network) is a set of interconnecting a number of autonomous computers. Within a set number of autonomous computers interconnected. In popular language can be explained that the computer network is a collection of multiple computers (and other devices such as printers, hubs, etc.) that are connected to each other through the media middleman. Its medium is usually in the form of cable media or media without wires (wireless). Flow information will be data from a computer to other computers or devices from one computer to another, so that each - each computer is connected to the regular exchange of data or different hardware.

Background Network Installation Wireless Lan

Advances in information technology today continue to evolve with the needs of people who mengiginkan ease, speed, and accuracy in obtaining the information. Therefore advances in information technology should continue to try and improve the quality and quantity. One of the technological advances in the field of information transmission in the current growing besides fiber optic is the use of wireless LAN devices. Wireless LAN device allows the user relationship information even when the condition of the mobile (moving), so as to provide convenience to the users of the information in their activities. One example application of wireless devices at this time is the use of hp (cellular phone).

Basically Wireless LAN users on a network not unlike the wired network as the transmission medium , it's just the cost of installation would be relatively mild , especially when the network is located sufficiently far apart , so that even if the device is relatively expensive compared using the cable but when viewed ease of network installation and total cost is cheaper especially if the distance is far apart and difficult terrain when using wired devices .

One alternative that can be used as a conductive medium wave is a Wireless LAN Access Point . Authors recommend using this tool because it is easy to use and many functions . On the basis of the above authors feel the need to perform a network installation using a Wireless LAN Access Point to build HOTSPOT area .

The term wireless network is commonly heard at this point is a Wireless LAN . Wireless LAN is a network technology that does not use the cable as a medium of instruction in the common data in a computer network today . This technology is in accordance with its name , which means wireless cordless , uses radio waves to make the interaction or communication between a computer unit .

Abstract Wireless LAN Network Installation

Use of the network is now progressing very rapidly and has been widely used for a variety of business activities, both by companies large and small companies. As business opportunities in the business world, some of these companies are making the media (the Internet) as the main medium that can make it easier to communicate directly through the electronic media, both internally and externally.

Developments that are so drastic that could be a very good opportunity in terms of the economy as a whole, but for the majority of companies engaged in the network, this is a complex challenge. How not, a relatively small company can easily have that information technology is similar to large firms who have long been this business.

Thus , the authors would like to build a network capable infrastriuktur serve as great business opportunities and accurate information in order to make network systems that are designed to meet the desired requirements. To the authors will discuss the title "WIRELESS LAN NETWORK INSTALLATION (HOTSPOT AREA) COMMERCIAL FACILITIES AS" .
